Ace of Cups

He didn’t die in slow motion. They were no choirs to sing him down. He didn’t gasp or stare. He was there until he wasn’t.
The blood stayed on the sheets.
Be of good cheer. I expect, right until the pistol bucked in the other man’s fist, he thought he would live forever. Maybe even afterwards.
